This is a good time to be collecting seed from flowers and vegetables.

Can can some of us collect seeds for a seed swap in the spring?

Following on from David’s comment on organising a seed swap I came across Seedy Sunday with more information and links on seed swapping. I quote from the site:

Seed swapping connects and sustains the local gardening network. It offers gardeners old and new a chance to grow their own food and to try different varieties thus keeping out heritage vegetables from extinction. It gives gardeners a chance to share knowledge and seed that has adapted to local conditions.

There is also advice on the site on how to save seed. As well as being an excellent source of free seeds, you might make new friends and you’ll definitely be helping the environment.

Thanks for that helpful link. Green Here will be holding a Sping Fair with a difference in Queens Gardens, Hull (date yet to be fixed) so perhaps we can have a seed swap stall there.
